We offer three different DEA training and assessment packages for you to choose from to suit your experience and current skills. This page describes the package for New Entrants.
New entrant package (£3,250 + VAT)
This is specifically designed for those with no prior experience of surveying residential property or energy rating. If you have experience in these areas and feel that you do not need to attend all 4 training components, please see our experienced practitioner programme.

- 2 days training (Training Component 1) on understanding the national occupational standards and compiling evidence for Units 1 and 2. Our experience with assessing 1,400 Home Inspectors is that this is absolutely essential
- 2 days training (Training Component 2) on understanding residential dwellings - types of construction, heating systems and controls
- 2 days training (Training Component 3) delivered in small interactive workshops undertaking residential surveys including understanding the RDSAP conventions, making recommendations for improvement, and actually completing an EPC
- 2 days practical experience (Training Component 4) on non-standard properties, unusual features, and building integrated renewables. Delivered in small interactive workshops, this includes an accompanied assessment
